SUMBA
An hour’s flight from Bali lies an island that is still untouched. There is no mass tourism here, no beach clubs, no nightlife and no shopping malls. What you get instead is impossibly clean beaches, empty lagoons, horses running free and locals who spend their evenings navigating the seashore for shellfish. The magic of Sumba is hard to put into words, but it’s an island that draws people in. Even though there are over 17,000 islands in Indonesia, I find myself coming back here as much as possible.
